Education

I began my undergraduate career at Stanford University. My home called me back to Minnesota where I obtained my BA in biology from the University of St. Thomas in 1998. After a stint in the biotech industry, I began my graduate work at the University of Minnesota, working towards an MPH in Epidemiology. The University of Wisconsin--Madison called to me. I earned my PhD in Microbiology in 2008.

Experience

25 years of tutoring Math and Science 10 years ACT prep and ACT curriculum design 3 years of experience as a TA in general chemistry and biology courses 4 years experience as Professor of Microbiology, Genetics, and Molecular Biology 6 years experience as Research Mentor to Undergraduates Currently, Owner and Educator of e2studio (http://e2studio.org/) I started tutoring in college on a volunteer basis at an inner city school in St. Paul, MN. After a semester of tutoring, I was asked to tutor on an individual basis. After college, I took on jobs at Huntington Learning Center and Lee Education Center in MN as a means to supplement my income and eventually aid in paying for work towards a graduate degree. After 2 years at Lee Education Center, I was attending school full-time, TAing at the University of MN, working at the MN department of Health AND tutoring 30 hours a week. Tutoring has become the highlight of day as I enjoy getting to know my students, building their confidence not only academically, but also on a personal level--something that I do not have the opportunity to do as often as I would like at the college level in the classroom. ***Rates: $60/hr for subject tutoring and $125/hr for ACT prep.*** For more information please visit: http://e2studio.org/
